This is the very first rug done of the five sisters. I do have four of them! I frequently place hills in my backgrounds as a way of breaking up solid spaces. In my mind, they don't have to be logical--some feet can seem to be on two hills at the same time. The colors in this rug are fantastic to work with. A stormy deep sky is so rich in depth. My grandson (in Minnesota) quickly named this "Purple Rain" when he glanced at it. Prince would be so happy. Hooked in 8-cuts with 4-cuts as outlining, sparsely placed.
